
Independent Consultant:
Deborah has been working independently since 2003 with clients in industries such as construction and publishing and in the fields of education, health, the arts, accounting and consulting. She enjoys working as a facilitator with teams and groups and also provide one-to-one coaching and mentoring for individuals.
Deborah works with clients to develop tailor-made events and programmes. This could be a modular management development programme, a workshop to develop interpersonal skills or to learn about and practise interviewing, influencing or appraisal skills. There is also much demand for work in the area of career and professional development and she has introduced mentoring programmes for a UK independent regulator and competition authority and a global construction business.
Deborah is an associate of Poisson Rouge, working with actors and role-play to bring learning to life.
Business background:
Joined Marks & Spencer as a management trainee and worked in stores across the UK. Led small teams responsible for store finance then moved to London Head Office’s Customer Services Department. Final role in project team responsible for briefing suppliers and store staff.
Recruited by Lloyds Bank to deliver programmes on customer service and quality for branch staff across the UK. Worked in various management training centres, designing and delivering management development programmes. Other roles, in the field of professional development, included project management, coaching and internal consultancy.
With Interactive Skills, a company of business psychologists, worked as a consultant in partnership with a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors. Projects covered a host of topics in the field of professional development, including large-scale events, running development centres, one-to-one coaching, facilitating teamwork and specific skills training.
