CIRCUS CHALLENGE
The Circus Challenge is exactly what is says on the ‘tin’ – a
day learning about and performing circus skills.
It is about doing something completely different, learning new skills and having
a huge amount of fun indoors and / or outdoors. It is brilliant for breaking
down barriers, creating lots of smiles and laughter and giving people a chance
to get to know each other. It is also high energy and can be very challenging
if you want it to be.
All the Poisson Rouge performers are friendly and professional facilitators as well as being professional circus performers. The jugglers are amongst the world’s leading juggling acts and their Luminescence show is simply dazzling.
The event starts with a circus performance to get everyone in the mood. We then split the group into teams - each team taking part in learning and practicing a different circus skill. Teams spend approx 30-45 mins on each skill (juggling, diabolo, low wire (tightrope), mime, clowning, plate spinning, unicycling, stilt walking... etc)
Throughout the event certain people are identified as 'Star Performers'. These are often the people who have laughed the loudest, put in the most effort, got it the most wrong as well as some who have shown genuine talent etc. About an hour before the end they go off with the Show Director to put together a gala performance for the other delegates to enjoy.
Everyone gets a chance to have a go at the many different disciplines before we end with a roaring finale. Budget and space permitting we assemble a ‘Big Top’ marquee for the show.
