METROPOLY CHALLENGE

Chances are that at some point during your lifetime you have played the well-known board game Monopoly. Well this is Metropoly - and you are playing it for real!

The Metropoly Challenge gives you a chance to see and explore any major city of the world. Versions of this Challenge are already set up in over 20 cities both in the UK and Europe. New Cities can be set up and challenges can be prepared within 24 hours.

The Metropoly Challenge starts with a briefing at which point the teams are divided, the rules explained and the ‘kit bags’ handed out. Teams then set off. They must plan a route around the city on foot, in cabs, in bikes or using travel passes we give them, to collect properties by photographing their teams at key locations (i.e. in London - Mayfair, Old Kent Road etc.)

Teams must also complete a series of compulsory tasks (Community Trove and Pot Luck). Bonus points are scored for completing difficult or unusual tasks (i.e. photograph the team with a Finnish Tourist (proof required). Maximum points for photographing another team without them knowing or for finding a set of bearded, identical twins!

General knowledge riddles and clues about the city adds more competition still – (e.g. In London -who is buried standing up at St. Paul's and why?).

There is no way any team can complete the entire Challenge and the key to success is to plan effectively, to stick to your strategy and amass as many points as possible in the allotted time. .

This activity is ideal for a conference activity or team offsite and can take place anywhere in the world.
