WINES OF THE WORLD CHALLENGE

The wine of the world challenge is a 'just for fun' wine event ideal for international conferences and meetings. It is very flexible, great fun and involves tasting a variety of interesting and unusual wines from around the world.

In this event delegates are first invited to hear about wines from a number of different countries and to consider their styles, tastes, qualities etc. Delegates are also invited to learn about a number of cheeses. Having gleaned as much information as possible from the invited Poisson Rouge wine expert - delegates then get to blind taste the wines and working from a set of tasting notes must identify which wine is which – where it comes from, what grape variety it is etc. They must also try and guess the retail price of the wines and the country of origin. Additionally – using the information they received in the introduction – they must taste the different cheeses and suggest which wines pair up best with which cheeses.

Other wine related brain teasers add to the fun and following the results – prizes are awarded.

This is great fun and lasts between 45 minutes and 1 and half hours
